Cape Coral police investigated a report that a resident at a halfway house on Northwest 1st Place was viewing child sexual abuse material. The two residents named by police were arrested on probation-violation charges involving unauthorized internet-capable cellular devices, not on child-sexual-abuse-material charges as of the cited reports. The investigation remains ongoing and police said additional charges may be forthcoming.

Banana Ball announced its 2027 Banana Ball Championship League schedule during its City Selection Show on Oct. 15, 2026. The six-team touring league, led by the Savannah Bananas, will expand outside the United States for the first time, with dates in Mexico and Canada.
