Colorado Springs police say a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cybertip prompted a joint investigation with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office into alleged online communications between a Colorado adult and a juvenile in Florida. Nicholas Madson, 46, was identified by police as a teacher at CIVA Charter High School and was arrested in Colorado on a Florida warrant. The reported Florida charge is soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services; the investigation remains active and Colorado charges were described as possible, not filed.

He said he intends to seek the mayor’s office in the April 6, 2027, general municipal election, when incumbent Mayor Yemi Mobolade is pursuing reelection. Colorado’s 4A boys tennis individual state tournament began Oct. 15 at Pueblo City Park, separate from the state dual-team championship. Discovery Canyon’s Matthew Frost and Jace Clawson reached the No. 1 doubles semifinals for the program’s first state-semifinal doubles appearance. Cheyenne Mountain’s Garrett Weiner and Iker Valle Navarrette also moved through the No. 1 doubles bracket, setting up a semifinal against Discovery Canyon.

East overcame a 21-3 halftime deficit by scoring the final 29 points of the game, finishing with 32 unanswered points for a 32-21 win.
